Reine des Vallees is an alpine strawberry cultivar that grows 1" fruit. It is well known in Europe to commercial and home growers. The name is French for Queen of the Valleys. It is a clumping plant that increases in size as the plant grows. It has few to no runners, day neutral and produces a good amount of fruit throughout summer and into fall. It is preferable to plant in sun but recommended for growers in warmer climates to have afternoon shade . USDA hardiness zone 3-9. Fertilize with organic mature or organic fertilizer. These plants are non- gmo and organically grown and also grown from seeds from plants that are non-gmo and organically grown. Great plant to grow in pots, hanging baskets, raised beds, window boxes or along with foundation plants at the side of a flower bed. Plant about 10" from the center between strawberry plants. These are sweeter than the larger variety grown in the USA. They are wonderful when mixed in a salad, cereal or to make jam and jelly.
