The top is cloaked with organic semolina flour and the loaf is baked on a sprinkling of organic corn meal. Turkey red winter wheat is an ancient variety of wheat first brought to this country by Ukrainian emmigrants. Bread will be baked for you on Wednesday. Toasting brings out a nice nutty flavor. Amy and I think this bread also makes the best stuffing ever. It can be wrapped in plastic wrap and foil and frozen for later. Re- heat in a 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes to get a crispy crust and delicous hot loaf.

This organic sourdough bread is made with organic flour, unchlorinated well water, sea salt, and the Carl Griffith sourdough starter fermented from wild yeast that rode the Oregon Trail and has been kept alive since 1847. It has a hard crust and is soft on the inside. Definitely our favorite bread.
