Gift of the Bees Extract is made in our certified farm kitchen. Made from our hive's Propolis ~ cleaned and extracted, Blended with our wildflower honey infused with sage and thyme. Propolis is a very sticky substance the bees make from tree and plant resins, adding their own wax. The bees use it to protect the health of the colony, to protect their hive from disease, including the effects of intruders (mice and other critters have been found in hives, coated with propolis to protect the bees from disease). The compounds in propolis provide immune defense and antioxidant properties. Studies are showing propolis as a potential therapeutic and preventive agent, as an antimicrobial, wound healer, cardio-protector and optimizer of neural function (ncbi.nim.nih.gov "Evidence on the Health Benefits of Supplemental Propolis). Our intention in making this product is to provide alternative options for those who may not be able or choose not to take prescription or over the counter drugs. Our sheep are pasture raised, grass fed, and grass finished. No grain, no drugs, no chemicals, and no synthetic minerals. kelp meal and salt provide the necessary mineral supplementation. Spring water from the Northeast Georgia mountains keep our sheep hydrated as they graze pastures that are more like prairies providing a polyculture of grasses and native forages that have not been sprayed with any fertilizers or pesticides in at least 10 years. We implement management intensive grazing practices by moving our sheep onto well rested fresh paddocks every single day.

Our not-so-secret ingredients are our generous quantity of raw natural HONEY and BEESWAX in every bar. Honey produces a superb rich lather and beeswax adds hardness to the bar to ensure it is long-lasting in the shower. We formulate with luxury oils like cocoa butter and babassu oil to create the richest creamy lather possible that cleans, yet leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized, not dry and tight. RAINFOREST FRIENDLY! We Use No Palm Oil or Palm Kernel Oil.
