Welcome to Northeast Georgia Locally Grown’s weblog. Mainly this is a collection of e-mails that we send out each week to kick off the market, but also tells the tale of our little market. The market was officially OPENED and our first orders taken on Monday, April 26th, 2010 with our pick-up on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010. Though small at the beginning our market has grown pretty well, Selling $25,000 by December 31, 2010, and nearly $40,000 by our anniversary on April 28th, 2011. The site will be opened for shopping Friday evening at 9:00pm and remain open for shopping until 9:00pm Monday evening.
Market open for orders
Good Evening Locavores, Northeast Georgia Locally Grown is open for orders!
PLEASE NOTE: We will be closed Wednesday, December 27 only this year. That’s in about three weeks. Unless, of course, incliment weather hits at just the right time to prevent growers or customers from safely delivery and/or picking up local goodies. We will be in communication through either email or phone if that happens. For that reason, thanks for checking your account page to make sure you have the right phone listed. And thanks for understanding that weather DOES affect plants and may be the reason an item you order may not be harvested/delivered.
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30pm!
Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
