Chicken eggs. These Australorp hens lay beautiful brown eggs. Eggs are gathered several times a day and go straight to the refrigerator. We do not wash our eggs. Free range grazing is augmented with organic layer pellets. NOTE: Since it is virtually impossible when candling brown eggs to detect blood spots you may experience them occasionally in your eggs. It's good to crack them in a separate bowl before incorporating them into your recipe.

UNWASHED and not refrigerated ~ We have a small flock of hens of varying types who are spoiled rotten. They live in a protected yard partly shaded by fig and elderberry bushes, and eat lots of greens, figs, berries and go through piles of weeds seeking bugs and whatever they find there that interests them. And we do feed them New Country Organic feed for their main food source. Yes, they all have names and two are almost 6 years old. Eggs are collected a couple of times a day, just to keep from feeding the rat snake.
