ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Northeast Georgia Locally Grown farmers markets are sponsored by the Georgia Mountains Farmers Network and provide multiple ways to connect you with local food from dozens of small farms within 80 miles committed to chemical-free growing practices all year long!

OUR GROWERS
We prefer Certified Organic or Certified Naturally Grown farms and personally visit each farm and vendor before approving. Not all growers are required to have certification but we verify all growers are committed to not using any synthetic chemicals on your food or the surrounding land. You can read through our GUIDELINES FOR GROWERS to learn how we approach the specifics of local and more sustainable.

ABOUT US
This website is the way to pre-order from farmers every week. We help you connect with local food. Online listings are managed by approved farmers and artisans. Farmers grow the food (no reselling allowed), list their product, harvest, pack, label, and drop off for you to swing by and purchase at a centralized location of your choice below. We maintain partner locations, have volunteers organize items, hand items to you, and group payments.

Northeast Georgia Locally Grown has 3 Wednesday market sites in Gainesville, Clarkesville, and Clayton, where local farmers are also welcome to setup their booths from 5-6:30pm. See locations at bottom of page.

HOW IT WORKS

Approved Farmers and Artisans predict what will be ready for harvest that week.

Market opens for orders Fridays at 9 p.m. and stays open for orders through Monday at 9 p.m.

Farmers harvest, pack, and drop off your items on Wednesdays

Volunteers organize your order in a basket with your name and it is ready for pickup at your selected pickup location from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays

Payment is accepted at pickup. We share a cash box with the farmers which means we combine payments and pass it directly to them. We depend on your timely payment (even if you miss pickup) to operate smoothly.

MEMBERSHIP
There is a small annual membership fee of $20 per household to help Northeast Georgia Locally Grown pre-order system with education efforts surrounding local foods.
Membership is added to the fourth order
and we are happy to waive the membership fee for those going through financial hardship. Membership is renewed annually, based on when you first joined, but there is no membership due if you don't order (we don't auto charge your card or anything like that).

We heavily rely on VOLUNTEERS to continue building community around local food. Let us know if you are interested in volunteering with us!
