Comfrey has been in use for more than 2000 years. It's touted as having wonderful effects on your skin. As we age our skin loses elasticity and begins to thin causing it to bruise easily even from bumping your arm on a chair. Comfrey contains allantoin which softens the skin and seems to help build new skin cells (from my own experience) and the bruising dissipates with a few days. You can make a quick salve by heating the leaves in a small amount of olive oil then strain and mix beeswax with the oil. It's also called knitbone or boneknit but I don't have any broken bones on which to test it. I've not tried it as an internal medicine so I have no testimony at this point.
