Cozy Cabin Farm

It used to be an acceptable excuse to miss school in order to harvest. It was instilled in me to grow food and “put it by”. Since 1976 ( the first time that I remember missing school to harvest Silver Queen with my Grandfather), I have done just that. This heritage will be maintained. As I age, and reflect, the sharing of these skills will be passed on to my grandchildren. Part of this “putting it by” always leaves one pondering if there is a better variety or cultivar out there – and so experiments take place. I have grown several hundred varieties of tomatoes and over 120 cultivars of garlic. Our offerings may not be the usual nor consistent. I like to grow different stuff each year and trial it. The offerings will only be the surplus – though some of our favorites may become perpetual offerings.
